Gathering Parts for 90k kms Refreshment Buffet

Anticipating that I'll be in DC for a week, I intend to make full use of it by getting some stuffs for upcoming 90k kms refreshment buffet for Pocong. So few days before my arrival, a quick chat with the guys at Ohio easily landed these at hotel for a meagre USD10 courier cost via FedEx:

- ECS PU Rear Axle Bushing Kit USD79.95
- EBC Red Stuff Rear Pads USD65.16
- Wahler 80 deg Thermostat USD19.49

On top of that, I've had already purchased VW genuine front and rear wiper blades (RM100) and Lemforder front top mounts (RM110). Another 6k kms to go, gathering parts still continues :)

Received this package on Wednesday

ECS PU Rear Axle Bushing Kit

ECS Red Stuff for the rear to compliment the earlier unused gathered front pads

Wiper refills and Lemforder top mounts. Bought the top mounts because it's cheap, RM55 per piece. Proton's kinda price :)

Parts for the Waja

While waiting for my ECS clutch and braided hoses to reach my doorstep (3 weeks of waiting for the clutch alignment tool to be stocked, 3 days got stucked in Colongne due to Iceland's volcano eruptions and 1 day stucked in Shenzen due to bad weather and so the excuse counting up and up), my brother and I went to PH Auto yesterday to buy replacement parts for the Waja:-

- Sachs Super Touring dampers for RM370 a set
- Top mount RM110 a pair
- Tie rod end RM50 a pair
- Don brake pads RM100 a set
- Radio antenna RM35
- Bendix Dot5.1 brake fluid RM20
- Revised aircond vent RM65

We got most of the parts installed at my old mechanic place, RCT Autoworld in Wangsa Melawati. Pretty well done up as usual with these guys. Having said that, I was thinking of getting them to replace my Pocong's clutch. Might not be VAG specialist but they've had fair share in doing lots of Bimmers, Mercs, Jags and Japs, so Pocong could be another car they can do, hopefully.....

Things I like about Proton, they're cheap to maintain!

Ibiza's solid bushes

The Ibiza R front of the rear wishbone’s (it’s confusing I know hehehe) solid bushes have just reached my doorstep yesterday after two weeks of waiting. Time to scout for H&R camber kit, rear shims before going for installation….
