K-Sport GT Pro Coilovers

I've got an offer for this. Supposedly, it's the same thing as the D2 but at cost price which way below any other on the market (published £526.81) and yet I just don't know whether to bit the bullet or not. Spec wise is pretty impressive but ride will not be soothing to my spine as the spring rate circa 7kg fr and 5.3kg rr. Key features of this coilovers:

-Inverted steel shock absorber for durability
-Lower center of gravity and higher chassis rigidity
-Designed to reduce friction for cooler shock oil temperature
-Inverted design like vehicles in WRC and all JGTC cars
-36-way adjustable dampening
-Made from high quality 6061 Aluminum with T6 for increased hardness
-Compression/Rebound adjustable
-Adjustable spring perch for height adjustment
-Adjustable body allowing maximum suspension travel
-Pillow Ball Top Mount w/ adjustable camber (not available for some models)
-Monotube High Pressure Design reduces oil leakage
-Electroplated body for protection from corrosion and rust

Arrrgghhh!

  2. before you get it, ask yourself this question: will your wife kill you if she is in a car that bounces like that??

  3. Meor,

That's the thing bro. But I'm still waiting for confirmation on the specs that the guy's bringing in. From the above, it should include pillow ball mount & camber kit.

    Yip,

That's another problem, probably I could have said the stock shockers kong-ed hahaha... but then if you google around, you'll see quite number of positive reviews about it.

Still on the other side, I had give up in suspension tuning in my previous car and wonder should I'll be in this mess again or not...

  4. depends on what you want!!!

if you want to sacrifice ride comfort, and increase NVH then go for this. The pillow ball esp will be quite harsh compared to stock rubber bushing. Of course when you loose all this you gain the handling prowess esp on twisty roads or on the track.

If its your daily ride, it will be uncomfortable imho. SP runs 8kg front and 6kg rear, and I can attest to how uncomfortable it can get. Maybe u can look for stiffer shock and spring combo instead of coilover w p/ball setup?

  5. Well said Mugil. Logically I should follow your opinion as Pocong is daily ride anyway, no point getting it bone crashingly jarring ride. Just sometimes the desire of a good offer is irresistible :(

The guy haven't called me yet, so it's a long way to go...hahaha

  6. oh yeah, how are the federal tires holding up? I need to change tyres on SP and considering semi slicks. Apparently quite hard to get r888 toyo for 16in wheels now. I dont mind the 225/50/16 alround, but dont know where they might have it. Federal is another choice. How has it been so far?

  7. Mugil,

RSR has been great! You should try but I've a hunch R888 is still better on the dry though:)
